July 10, 2017. This is the date, this is the day Katie and I have been praying for, working toward, and hoping for. It has come both quicker than we imagined, and yet somehow seemed to take longer than hoped. But July 10, 2017 will be here before we know it.
What is so important about this date? It is the day that I will join Missionary TECH Team full-time! We are so excited to have shared this journey with you and are exceedingly thankful for your prayers and support these past 8 months. We look back at the path struck so far and know, without a doubt, that the Lord has guided our steps. We are in awe of the flood gates He has opened to bring us to this point. We eagerly anticipate how He will continue to provide.
Like all things in life, however when a new chapter begins, another must come to an end. June 2, 2017. This is the date, this is the day Katie and I have prayed about and worked toward for many months. Some days it looked to be far off, and yet it came far quicker than imagined.
What is so important about this date? This was the day that marked my last day at Thacker|Davis Architects. After discussion with the leadership of TECH and much prayer, we decided that it was time to resign from my current job and devote the month of June to finalizing support raising. It was a difficult decision but one that has God’s fingerprints all over it. As we look forward to the future we will deeply miss those whom I worked with for nearly ten years. They were a stalwart support and encouragement during this time of transition.
June 2, 2017. This was an exciting date, this was a difficult day. I am so excited to be one step closer to TECH, but I still struggled with departing the life I know. Life is funny that way. Most things worth looking forward to come with at least a hint of sadness at the fruition. The joy of grasping the new comes with the pain of letting go of the old. Through all our life changes though, our God, my God, is the stalwart; unchanged through our ever-changing tides.
