The last day! We were all tired and done with being in the car but we had a pretty short drive and we knew home was close. After arriving home, we all gladly spread out in the comfort and familiarity of home. We welcomed our beds like old friends!
The next few days, we stayed home and enjoyed some rest and being on our own schedule. I took more naps than I would normally allow myself but it felt so good to just enjoy the freedom of relaxing.
Here are the stats: we were gone for 19 days, one of our longer trips to date. We travelled nearly 4,000 miles and had over 52 hours of driving. Eric was able to visit 3 projects. We met with at least a dozen supporters. We also visited with 10 family members, many of whom we hadn’t seen in years.
We all had favorite moments we talked about and stories we enjoyed sharing again with each other. We all brought home memories of wonderful places and special people. We all felt the blessing of God on our trip as we travelled so many miles safely. And we were all blessed with a love of going home that echoes the greater call to Him.
