The Big Trip: Days 8 & 9

One week gone! We finally made our way towards Colorado Springs! We left the camp pretty early and headed to Durango for breakfast. The girls and I got huge, fancy donuts! Then we forged ahead over the mountains one last time. It was beautiful and a little nerve racking when a shower popped up just as we started our descent.

By the time we made it to Eric’s parent’s house, we had just enough time to eat a quick meal, give some hugs, watch the Colorado Avalanche win the Stanley Cup, and go to bed. Next day, Eric worked remotely updating the Facilities Planning staff about the projects we visited, provided some work for a faithful intern back at the office, and responding to a few emails. We spent the rest day enjoying the company, beautiful weather, and books from Granny’s library.
